Challenge
Design an iPad app that could be used as a tool for sales reps to manage real-time creation of customer orders across the country while onsite at distributor locations, while integrating with a legacy AS400 inventory management system.
Exploration
To provide both the best end-user experience and the most frictionless back-end integration, we determined that the iPad app must function in both online and offline modes, with a substantial app back-end that would act as a proxy to communicate between the app and the legacy system.
Solution
An elegant native application that focuses on providing as simple a user order process as possible coupled with a streamlined user interface. Sales reps are provided the ability to create orders in a variety of ways including integration with Bluetooth scanner hardware and manual high volume order entry while allowing for a typical order process with custom pricing and volume negotiation.
